Aromatherapy Massage in The Hague
Restore balance between body and mind with our Aromatherapy Massage at Amilda in The Hague. Prior to the treatment, your therapist will conduct a personal consultation to assess your mood and needs. Based on this, one of our 13 specially developed essential oil blends will be selected, perfectly tailored to how you are feeling at that moment. You will then enjoy a deeply restorative massage combining Eastern and Western techniques. Light to medium pressure is used to treat the back, scalp, face, neck, shoulders, and feet. What's included in each session?
A targeted and restorative treatment offering the complete aromatherapy experience in an efficient way. Following a personal consultation to choose your essential oil blend, your therapist will treat your back, legs, scalp, and face using signature acupressure techniques along the spine and skull, lymphatic drainage movements, and reflexology techniques for the feet. The carefully chosen essential oil blend works on your senses throughout the treatment, calming the nervous system and helping to release tension. The ideal choice for regular maintenance or when you're short on time but still want to experience optimal results.
The complete and relaxed Ultimate Aromatherapy experience, including a mini-facial. In addition to the full body treatment for the back, glutes, legs, abdomen, neck and shoulders, this session includes a special 20-minute treatment for the scalp and face. Your therapist will apply a personalised facial oil and work with pressure point techniques on the forehead and sinuses, eye movement techniques, pressure points on the cheeks and jawline, and facial and jaw lymphatic drainage. The scalp receives a deep fingertip massage and lymphatic drainage, whilst the neck, shoulders and trapezoid muscles are treated with extra attention. Recommended for your first visit or when you need a deep, head-to-toe mind and body reset.
A sensory journey of rest and recovery
This is more than just a massage with wonderfully scented oils. Aromatherapy Associates' method, based on over 30 years of expertise and inspired by the pioneering work of biochemist Marguerite Maury, uses carefully applied pressure point techniques along the spine and skull to directly stimulate the autonomic nervous system. This system controls your breathing, digestion, immune response, and blood pressure, among other things, thereby rebalancing the entire body.
The light to medium massage techniques support healthy blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, and stimulate lymphatic drainage. A gentle reflexology massage of the feet deepens relaxation further. The essential oils are absorbed through the skin and offer physical benefits, while their aromatic effect through the sense of smell helps to calm, balance the body and mind, and release emotional tension.

FAQ
What exactly is an aromatherapy massage?
An Aromatherapy Massage is a holistic body massage that combines pure essential oils with a blend of Eastern and Western techniques. Targeted pressure point techniques along the spine and skull stimulate the autonomic nervous system, supporting the body's natural processes and helping to bring the body and mind back into balance. Light to medium pressure is applied during the treatment.
FAQ
How is the oil chosen?
Your therapist will begin with a brief consultation to gain insight into your current mood and physical needs. Based on this, one of 13 professional blends from Aromatherapy Associates will be selected, specially developed for both women and men.
What is included in the 90-minute treatment?
The 90-minute treatment includes everything from the 60-minute treatment, plus a special 20-minute mini facial. This includes a personalised facial oil, pressure point techniques for the forehead and sinuses, techniques around the eyes, pressure points on the cheeks and jawline, facial and jaw lymphatic drainage, a deep scalp massage, and extra attention to the neck, shoulders, and trapezius muscle.
Can I request firmer pressure during an aromatherapy massage?
This treatment is naturally performed with light to medium pressure, as the technique primarily works with targeted pressure point sequences along the spine and skull rather than deep muscle pressure. However, if desired, we can apply firmer pressure to specific areas such as the upper back and shoulders. There is a small surcharge per person for this: €10 for 60 minutes and €15 for 90 minutes. Simply inform us during the consultation prior to your treatment.
Is an aromatherapy massage suitable for everyone?
In most cases, yes. Do you have allergies, sensitive skin or a medical condition? Please let us know when booking your appointment, so we can tailor the treatment accordingly. Amilda also offers a special pregnancy massage.
What results can I expect?
Most guests feel deeply relaxed, lighter and more balanced after treatment. You may experience better sleep quality, breathe more easily, feel less muscle tension, and enjoy greater mental clarity and focus.
How often should I book this treatment?
For a specific complaint, we recommend booking one treatment per week for three weeks. Subsequently, monthly maintenance treatments will help maintain the long-term benefits.
Can I combine an Aromatherapy Massage with other treatments?
Yes. An aromatherapy massage can be perfectly combined with a facial treatment or facial massage for a complete head-to-toe experience.
Your therapist will be happy to advise you on the combination that best suits your needs.
What should I do before my massage?
Come 10 to 15 minutes earlier so you can relax and fill out a short intake form. Avoid heavy meals just before your treatment and drink plenty of water to keep your body well hydrated.
What should I do after my massage?
Drink plenty of water to support the body's natural detoxification process. Take it easy for the first few hours, avoid strenuous physical exertion, and give your body time to absorb all the benefits of the treatment optimally. You may feel a bit sleepy afterwards; this is completely normal.
